About Us:

Massachusetts Maritime Academy Alumni Association is an independent non-profit association that has been in existence since 1916 and was incorporated in 1947 as a charitable corporation.

The goal of The Alumni Association is to foster and strengthen a mutually beneficial relationship between The Academy and its graduates. This we do through support of networking among all graduates for personal and professional development, and by offering appropriate social activities and services.

To fulfill its mission, The Alumni Association provides a variety of services and programs that help graduates maintain ties to The Academy. The main work of The Alumni Association is carried out by standing committees of the Board of Directors, with each director serving on at least one committee. All of these directors are non-paid volunteers.

The Board of Directors of The Alumni Association meets on the first Monday of each month to conduct such business as may legally come before it. The annual meeting of the entire membership is held each Fall ,usually, to coincide with Homecoming Weekend, Officers and directors are elected by the membership at this meeting.

What We Do:

Awards a minimum of ten (10) student scholarships annually;
Makes annual awards, at Graduation each year, recognizing outstanding graduates, and others, who have demonstrated exceptional efforts on behalf of The Academy or The Alumni Association;
Publishes "The Bulletin", the alumni news magazine, six (6) times a year;
Maintains a current database of all graduates of The Academy;
Joins with The Academy in planning and presenting the annual Homecoming Weekend;
Sponsors an annual golf outing, traditionally scheduled to coincide with Homecoming Weekend;
Organizes and sponsors other social events for graduates throughout the year, aimed at raising money for The Alumni Association's scholarship and general funds; and promoting networking between graduates.

The Alumni Association is entirely self-supporting.
